  Thanks to one of my brothers from another mother.    I now have a definition of management vs. leadership.  Management is building a team to accomplish a mission.  Leadership is the capacity to bring the whole community along into the next moment with a little less fear.

Leadership: The Secret

Humans have the widest spectrum of bad behavior of any species that I have studied.  Murder, lies, adultery, ignorance, and more.  For a more complete list check the Bible. 

 

Other animals species do kill and do bad things for reasons other than food or defense but humans have more bad things that they do knowingly than any other animal species. So why do I care.  I was raised to care, and because my ancestors worked, bled, and died so that we could enjoy the wealth of this country and I would like to help ensure that my grandchildren's grandchildren have the opportunity to live in a land ruled by those that care about humanity.

 

So to get there we need leaders. And the secret to leadership is  ......

Faith is the Vehicle:

Faith allows us to receive and give love.  It is this stored up love that we use to act in the face of fear. This "entity Love" allows us to meld training and creative thought into actions motivated by love that can overcome the paralysis of fear.

We as individuals can use up our store of love. ( give example)  but the capacity to love in us can be restored and renewed. Our stockpile of love is restored when we have faith in something greater than ourselves. For me it is easy. I have faith in Jesus. Others have their own faith and I suppose that faith works as a vehicle for love for them as well. But I don't know. I know about my heavenly father. He tells me that all I must do to receive his Love is have faith in him.  So I do.

During my childhood in Jersey I had a friend.  He would always kid me about my references to this unpublished "book" that I used as a sort of moral compass.  I am finally getting around to writing, that "book". 

 

so much of our existence is determined by our reactions to and understanding of our fears.  I look forward today to getting a chance to spend some time with my heavenly father (the father who tells us to fear not) in the presence of some of his other children, my brothers and sisters in Christ.

I get to be greeter at our church today. I hope that today Jesus uses me to get his special gift  to someone that needs one.

  Yesterday, in class I was able to help create the environment where two of the female students in the high school class were able to put public words to their hope that they would someday find a husband who would not beat them.  I love that I was able to say to them that that is a realistic dream and that it may come true.  That women should not be beat by their husbands.

Yesterday I had a young student ask me if I was superstitious. I answered no. Then hoped he would ask why. He did not ask. But when he does I'm grateful that my answer will be Faith is stronger than superstition.

 

Until a person asks the question there is little chance they are ready for the answer.

It would be understandable to think the author of a work with that title might have ego issues.  My only hope is that the message reaches the people that Jesus intends it to reach. 

 

Part of the process of making strong independent men and women is to gradually get out of their way while at the same time always being available when consulted to provide wise consul.  This requires lots of waiting and faith, faith that the wisdom that the child seeks will be part of the experience of your life so that you may share it with the child. Waiting ain't easy. But It is the only way for the process to work. 

If you are blessed some day you may get confirmation that your work has produced that strong capable man or woman you hoped and prayed for.

My grandmother Lucinda ran a restaurant in the community in which she lived. Her life showed me that Black Folks can do anything that needs doing.  She showed me by example that the lies perpetuated by some elements of white culture in the United States that somehow we (black folks) are incapable of doing what it takes to run our own businesses are lies used to gain financial advantage.

It is the example of both the grandparents that I knew which tells me that I can. I can write this book. I can run this business.

So as my contribution to the health of all cultures in my country I will tell the story of why we need healthy fathers.
