The people who migrated here from Europe took a daring voyage into to the unknown. They traveled across an ocean with no guarantee that they would reach safety.They were motivated by the quest for freedom and lead by people they trusted to carry them through. Leaders are the tools people use to travel through the fear of the unknown.

    Humans implicitly must trust the people we adopt as leaders. Violation of this trust has disastrous results.

Religious and ethnic conflict has been around for a very long time. It must eventually come to some level of co-existence or one victory over the other.

As long as there has been conflict there have been those on both sides who will use the conflict as an excuse or justification for all manor of atrocity and violence.

In and effort to help my side become stronger and healthy i have accepted the mission of helping heal our society by uplifting and strengthening the fathers among us.

Those among us willing to do this important work should have an understanding of what the real job is. With that understanding will come clearer vision and insight into the importance and significance of the work of fathers in our society. We have raised far to many young without the benefits or faithful guidance. If those who chose to do the job of father understand what the real job is they will not have to deal with the guilt and baggage that comes with a sense of failure if the job description is bread winner. The important job function is passing on the ability to deal with fear to our children. The food and shelter we need are provided by our God. Our job is to demonstrate good stewardship of the provision God makes for our well being.  Do you take care of yourself so you can perform your job? Do you adequately prepare each day to work? If you demonstrate good stewardship to those in your care, then in faith our needs are provided for.

Understanding the real job explains how people who don't demonstrate the traditional characteristics of fathers can be effective for their children. Do they in their manner demonstrate an ability to manage fear. If the answer is yes then children will naturally absorb from that adult. This explains how gangsters and adults in prison can be effective parents.

So in our ongoing war I hope to help our side become stronger by helping more people chose the role of father.

free lunch

fear is the key. Less than 250 years ago southern white men chose war over facing the prospect of taking care of themselves.

maybe a stretch but I suspect that modern day plantation owners want their free lunch as well. From the people doing the work, even slaves had jobs.  no unions

suppose you can't blame corporate owners much.  pretty much everyone welcomes a free lunch.  especially those without integrity.

       i (with some help from my brothers) will be writing the book on leadership and you can buy it when i'm done. 

 

if it were not for one brother i would not have an appreciation for the insecurity involved with getting paid for leadership. for the most part the only leadership roles i have chosen were ones without pay. I choose not to have my income  threatened by the whims of an employer.

 

              I have been given a gift of insight.

Planning; walk and exercises count $0.11

Planning is good but limited. There are always unexpected events and as we all know, no plan survives first contact with the enemy.  Sometimes we don't see the evil ones work for what it is but none the less he is constantly trying to defeat good.

Why Faith:

Consider confidence. I believe it is an easy step to being overconfident, especially when it comes to confidence in our human abilities. One extremely dramatic example is the Titanic.

Men built a vessel and boasted that it was unsinkable.  It was sunk with a large ice cube. Thousands perished......

My view is that appropriate confidence is a good quality, but confidence while acknowledging the existence of an awesome and powerful GOD is better.

My only advice

My only advice:

• It is a choice.
• It helps to remember the purpose. (to pass on the ability to deal with fear: and the only way I have found to do that, that does not give one a hangover, is FAITH).
• If you want to try and do better, rest assured that if the Lord wakes you up again you are serving his purposes.
